Freedom from Binging
I help women that struggle with binge eating and body image find freedom with food and their bodies.
My clients struggle as you do. Despite being intelligent, empathetic, and caring individuals, life is hard.
When they first come in, they are full of shame. They are worried something is horribly wrong with them and that they will be seen as weak, undisciplined, and unworthy. Just scheduling the first appointment can feel so exposing.
Their lives have become so small because of their binge eating. They don’t understand why they can eat “normally” all day long and then when they get home from work- they cannot stop their binge. They don’t see friends, spend time with loved ones- they just want to hide away.
Their poor body image has caused them to live in baggy clothes and avoid social situations. They find themselves forever berating themselves because their sense of disgust and guilt is all consuming. It is impossible for them to feel peace while in their body.
Their binging and low self-esteem gets in the way of the life they want in so many ways. They aren’t the kind of partner they want to be. They feel like they’re failing at work and as a friend. Their dream of being a secure, independent person is slipping away.
Before they came to see me, they didn’t think life could be any different. They worried that therapy would confirm their fear that they are a lost cause. And they were pretty certain I wouldn’t be able to relate or help them.
Like my clients, you deserve to have a good relationship with food and your body.
